Hugo Lloris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Lane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugo Lloris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Kirkpatrick in the 11th minute. Rhys Dimmock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yanko Gurmev in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, ПФК Берое's goalkeeper Hugo Lloris had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daron Joseph. Viktor Schukin struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Hugo Lloris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zamalek FC. ПФК Берое's Hugo Lloris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save ПФК Берое from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the match, ПФК Берое's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Lane came free, but Hugo Lloris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zamalek FC's Elin Elin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 27th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Hugo Lloris but with some difficulty. Valko Sofiyanski hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Mugurel Balaeț managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zamalek FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mugurel Balaeț was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Lloris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mugurel Balaeț sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Zamalek FC booed when ПФК Берое was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valko Sofiyanski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Yanko Gurmev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 minutes ПФК Берое's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mugurel Balaeț who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Zamalek FC's Elin Elin to fire away a dangerous shot which Hugo Lloris despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A nice corner shot did that Mugurel Balaeț got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hugo Lloris quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Daron Joseph's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Hugo Lloris skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rhys Dimmock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Velichko Trenkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

In the 50th match minute, ПФК Берое was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vancho Paleshutski to maneuver through the defense. Fred Kirkpatrick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55th minute Leonardo Lane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Lloris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ПФК Берое's Velichko Trenkov got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute of the match ПФК Берое got a corner. Zamalek FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vancho Paleshutski ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on ПФК Берое's corner Vancho Paleshutski fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rhys Dimmock quite easily take care of the ball. Rhys Dimmock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yanko Gurmev in the 85th minute. After 87 played minutes Zamalek FC got a freekick which was hit by Filip Stăniloaie. Rhys Dimmock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velichko Trenkov in the 90th minute of play. Yanko Gurmev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rhys Dimmock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play.
