Jorge Campos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Guadalupe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Quinton Isern had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 minutes of play, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Örjan Forssell made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauricio Guadalupe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jorge Campos came out and tried to block the shot, but Mauricio Guadalupe slotted it home off the left post making it 0-12 in the 86th minute. Quinton Isern's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Campos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play.
