Leo Nesto came out and tried to block the shot, but Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Leo Nesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themos Panagakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justino Erruki in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aris Zanteroglou saved Jose F.C. from getting behind. Mervaleta FC's Leo Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ntinos Kaliakatsos in the 8th minute of play. After 9 minutes Mervaleta FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ntinos Kaliakatsos who took care of the corner kick. In the 9th minute, Justino Erruki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the match, Mervaleta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ntinos Kaliakatsos came free, but Leo Nesto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Leo Nesto made a huge save. In the 15th minute of the match Sebastián Reina shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leo Nesto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Mervaleta FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jonathan Ortzi hit a great ball. Didi Galvão made in the 24th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Epifanio Javiero. 27 minutes into the match, Mervaleta FC's goalkeeper Leo Nesto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris. If Justino Erruki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Nesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ntinos Kaliakatsos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leo Nesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ntinos Kaliakatsos in the 37th minute of play. Tano Sampler hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Leo Nesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orestis Daras, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Leo Nesto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute of the match, Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris got a very nice opportunity to score, but Leo Nesto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ntinos Kaliakatsos was the one to do the kick off. Justino Erruki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
