The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roberto Bueldi charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Nelson Haedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martyn Tandy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Matty Robson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Alfredo Aguilar made a huge save. Club Olimpia's Alfredo Aguilar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Club Olimpia from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, White Eagles FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Haedo came free, but Martyn Tandy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelson Haedo in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martyn Tandy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rd minute of the match Club Olimpia got a corner. White Eagles FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Denis Inestrosa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Martyn Tandy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson Haedo in the 26th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Eddie Cartwright threw the ball into play from the sideline. Club Olimpia's Harry Backlund quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Harry Backlund kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Nelson Haedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martyn Tandy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Nelson Haedo's late challenge caught a White Eagles FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelson Haedo helped the player get up and apologised. Nelson Haedo kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Club Olimpia's Edmund Lidberg was substituted for Rickard Soned. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gez Eyre to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Jeffrey Barratt threw the ball into play from the sideline. Club Olimpia's Di Yang Lei quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jeffrey Barratt made in the 56th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gez Eyre. Alfredo Aguilar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gez Eyre in the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, White Eagles FC's Jeffrey Barratt got a free kick in the 65th minute. Martyn Tandy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Haedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martyn Tandy didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Club Olimpia's Nelson Haedo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-1 in the ordered_time% minute.
