With a little luck, PiCaNTeS FC's Alfredo Otoniel got control of the ball when Kerry Sellers tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Alfredo Otoniel managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when C. A. Independiente's Sidney Forbes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 14 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Otoniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidney Forbes. With a little luck, PiCaNTeS FC's Alfredo Otoniel got control of the ball when Kerry Sellers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kerry Sellers might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredo Otoniel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kerry Sellers ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice moves Sid Chadwick could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Alfredo Otoniel however easily saved by the left post. Alfredo Otoniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tancredo Hondaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute of the match PiCaNTeS FC got a corner. C. A. Independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rodrigo De Paul ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Oscar Ruggeri managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Sixto Ignazio charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sixto Ignazio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, PiCaNTeS FC's Sixto Ignazio got a free kick in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Alfredo Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Forbes to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Alfredo Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Forbes.

C. A. Independiente's Tommie Bolton was substituted for Sidney Forbes. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tommie Bolton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 56th minute of play forced PiCaNTeS FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Otoniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Eric Snowden hit a great ball. Alfredo Otoniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommie Bolton in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Otoniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Everardo Calvino kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Kerry Sellers managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. A. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Kerry Sellers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Otoniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kerry Sellers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Otoniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Alfredo Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kerry Sellers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Otoniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Alfredo Otoniel came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers. But to his dismay, Kerry Sellers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Alfredo Otoniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo De Paul's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farid Mondragón read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. When C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PiCaNTeS FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 89th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Otoniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute, Kerry Sellers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredo Otoniel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Claudio Marangoni got a free kick in the 96th minute.
