Through an outstanding action, after 11 minutes, François-Xavier Dionnet successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zheng Liang Song received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Alix Geoffray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Olympique Salonais booed when Rathmore Lime Tree was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erwin Billault didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alix Geoffray came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Olympique Salonais's Song Peng Xi. But to his dismay, Song Peng Xi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Alix Geoffray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Song Peng Xi, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Olympique Salonais's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ma Chao Yong in the 27th minute. Olympique Salonais's Ma Chao Yong was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alix Geoffray in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Zheng Liang Song managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympique Salonais's supporters rose to their feet, but Zheng Liang Song was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alix Geoffray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Song Peng Xi in the 32nd minute of play forced Rathmore Lime Tree's goalkeeper Alix Geoffray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alix Geoffray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zheng Liang Song in the 35th minute of play. Toufik Loir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. François-Xavier Dionnet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the game, Song Peng Xi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Alix Geoffray was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zheng Liang Song took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alix Geoffray. Alix Geoffray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After some careless play in the Rathmore Lime Tree defense, Zheng Liang Song kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alix Geoffray. The Rathmore Lime Tree fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alix Geoffray should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yves Robinet made a kick off. François-Xavier Dionnet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yves Robinet in the 52nd minute of play. Alix Geoffray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Song Peng Xi in the 55th minute of the match. Alix Geoffray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zheng Liang Song, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Olympique Salonais booed when Rathmore Lime Tree was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Texier didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Zheng Liang Song's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alix Geoffray was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toufik Loir in the 71st minute of play forced Olympique Salonais's goalkeeper François-Xavier Dionnet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hilario Chale got free with Alix Geoffray in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alix Geoffray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Song Peng Xi in the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute Song Peng Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alix Geoffray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olympique Salonais's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
