In the 39thth minute of the game Kaido Jaas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brunatni Bełchatów's Sonny Ahlerot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The FC Dundee fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when FC Dundee's Kaido Jaas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ago Aas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arno Luuk in the 46th minute of play forced Brunatni Bełchatów's goalkeeper Sonny Ahlerot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute Arvo Kena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Ahlerot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half FC Dundee were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute of the match FC Dundee got a corner. Brunatni Bełchatów's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arvo Kena ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Arvo Kena got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sonny Ahlerot quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Martin Moonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Sonny Ahlerot successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Teet Lasso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sonny Ahlerot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Martin Moonen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Sonny Ahlerot made a huge save. If Edvin Hargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sonny Ahlerot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvo Kena in the 70th minute of play. Sonny Ahlerot made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Arno Luuk sent off a good shot on target. Edvin Hargi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Sonny Ahlerot made a huge save. The supporters of Brunatni Bełchatów booed when FC Dundee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvin Hargi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ain Averin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwidon Tomaka in the 77th minute of play. Sonny Ahlerot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvo Kena in the 79th minute of play. Verner Dalkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Verner Dalkvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Brunatni Bełchatów were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after FC Dundee's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olgierd Kaczanka took the corner. The corner led Brunatni Bełchatów's Korneliusz Opat to fire away a dangerous shot which Ain Averin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Arno Luuk kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sonny Ahlerot. That made the score 0-4 in the 87 minute of play. Sonny Ahlerot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvo Kena, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Sonny Ahlerot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvo Kena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
