None of the them looked very eager to play. 龚康松 started the match with the kick off. Carel Van de Schrieck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubén Martínez, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Rubén Martínez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carel Van de Schrieck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Rambo Ramírez came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Café DE PLOEG's Ludwig Kloots. But to his dismay, Ludwig Kloots quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 龚康松's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Rambo Ramírez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rambo Ramírez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludwig Kloots in the 23rd minute of play. Café DE PLOEG's Carel Van de Schrieck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubén Martínez in the 24th minute of play. Carel Van de Schrieck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubén Martínez's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Ludwig Kloots fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rambo Ramírez having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, Colo-Colo's Rubén Martínez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carel Van de Schrieck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 36thth minute of the game Rubén Martínez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Café DE PLOEG's Carel Van de Schrieck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Cheito Ramírez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 44 minutes into the match, Rubén Martínez notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Café DE PLOEG's Carel Van de Schrieck. Carel Van de Schrieck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Colo-Colo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubén Martínez to make the kick off. Rambo Ramírez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ludwig Kloots, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colo-Colo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luisinho Vidal was slow to take the kick. During this time Café DE PLOEG's players had a chance to rest. Brian Verhaghen made a great header on Café DE PLOEG's corner, it was just that Colo-Colo's Rambo Ramírez managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Café DE PLOEG getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ovidio Benavides hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Café DE PLOEG's Ovidio Benavides got a free kick in the 69th minute. Colo-Colo made a substitution. Carlitos Caszely replaced Pablo Solari. 74 minutes into the match, 龚康松 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rambo Ramírez. Colo-Colo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 龚康松 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 77th minute Ludwig Kloots shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rambo Ramírez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludwig Kloots in the 80th minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Rambo Ramírez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Ludwig Kloots left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Café DE PLOEG fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. In the 95th minute, Ivo Basay reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carel Van de Schrieck. The goal made the score 3-4. The Colo-Colo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Colo-Colo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
