AMÉRICA F.C.'s Oséas Trancoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Ginneken in the 7th minute of play. Oséas Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias de Ruijter in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th match minute, AMÉRICA F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Rosa to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, AMÉRICA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Henk Cardinaal came free, but Oséas Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Setara in the 17th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oséas Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Ginneken, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Oséas Trancoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henk Cardinaal in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 25th minute Henk Cardinaal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséas Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, AMÉRICA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias de Ruijter came free, but Oséas Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Henk Cardinaal notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AMÉRICA F.C.'s Oséas Trancoso. Oséas Trancoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Douglas Berger. Leonard Setara hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Henk Cardinaal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, AMÉRICA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias de Ruijter came free, but Oséas Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half De Pelgrims were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Silvinho Pinheiro made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, AMÉRICA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias de Ruijter came free, but Oséas Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, AMÉRICA F.C.'s Oséas Trancoso got control of the ball when Kurt Ginneken tried to sneak it across the goal line. De Pelgrims's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fu Peng Feng in the 59th minute. Mathias de Ruijter made a great header on De Pelgrims's corner, it was just that AMÉRICA F.C.'s Oséas Trancoso managed to reach the ball for a save. Oséas Trancoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henk Cardinaal in the 63rd minute of the match. If Kurt Ginneken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mathias de Ruijter in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oséas Trancoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, De Pelgrims's Oséas Trancoso threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Henk Cardinaal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Leonard Setara's late challenge caught a De Pelgrims's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Setara helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to AMÉRICA F.C. getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Leonard Setara hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Mathias de Ruijter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, AMÉRICA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Henk Cardinaal came free, but Oséas Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when AMÉRICA F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathias de Ruijter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86th minute Henk Cardinaal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséas Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Oséas Trancoso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Kurt Ginneken didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-4 via right post in the game's 95th minute. De Pelgrims's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! De Pelgrims's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
