Tod Bridgeworth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 10th minute, Christo Bothenhain made a precise shot to the right of Tod Bridgeworth. Carlisle United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Tod Bridgeworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hanns Weber in the 24th minute of play. The corner led to Tiger's Hanns Weber getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Tod Bridgeworth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christo Bothenhain went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 37 minutes into the game, Pentti Ojala cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Tod Bridgeworth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Jan Thomas got a free kick in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Carlisle United's zone, Christo Bothenhain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tod Bridgeworth came out of the goal and Christo Bothenhain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Calvin Townsley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Concetto Raniolo made a huge save. In the 44th minute Folko Rebe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Bridgeworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jake Marriott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlisle United's Tod Bridgeworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hanns Weber in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Calvin Townsley made the kick off in the second half. Walter Baß hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jake Marriott in the 93rd minute of play forced Tiger's goalkeeper Concetto Raniolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tod Bridgeworth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michail Bakunin's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. After 96 minutes Carlisle United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Christo Bothenhain who took care of the corner kick. Shane Tetley kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Tod Bridgeworth acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 98th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Christo Bothenhain.
