In the 2nd minute Romulo Matia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Firman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Romulo Matia to fire away a dangerous shot which Pastor Firman despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Godofredo Bras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Verón in the 9th minute of the match. With his leg Godofredo Bras managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Club Sportivo Quilmes's Sebastian Verón fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Godofredo Bras made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Edmílson Martins sent off a good shot on target. Club Sportivo Quilmes were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after C. S. D. Pueyrredón's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Waldemar Przybylo took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Verón in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Godofredo Bras saved C. S. D. Pueyrredón from getting behind. 23 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Quilmes's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Matia came free, but Pastor Firman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Romulo Matia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pastor Firman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Federico Totakoxe got free with Godofredo Bras in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32ndth minute of the game Radomil Mietus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Godofredo Bras was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 42nd minute Sebastian Verón shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godofredo Bras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Constantino Ermano got a free kick in the 45th minute. When Waldemar Przybylo came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Club Sportivo Quilmes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldemar Przybylo couldn't finish the play.

Efrain Clodio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Godofredo Bras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomil Mietus in the 54th minute of play. Pastor Firman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teobaldo Rosario in the 55th minute of play. Godofredo Bras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radomil Mietus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pastor Firman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Gregory in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Verón in the 67th minute of play forced C. S. D. Pueyrredón's goalkeeper Godofredo Bras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Godofredo Bras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Verón, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Radomil Mietus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Halil İbrahim Yeltekin was substituted for Teobaldo Rosario. Radomil Mietus hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. When Halil İbrahim Yeltekin came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the C. S. D. Pueyrredón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Halil İbrahim Yeltekin couldn't finish the play. David Beckham Jr kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 82ndth minute of the game Sebastian Verón who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Godofredo Bras was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Club Sportivo Quilmes's Pastor Firman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Halil İbrahim Yeltekin in the 87th minute of play. If Sebastian Verón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Halil İbrahim Yeltekin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pastor Firman having to make a save. 94 minutes into the game, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Anacleto Monico nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Godofredo Bras made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The C. S. D. Pueyrredón players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
