Babür Kongurtay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Roger Hauguel notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of AKÇEŞMESPOR's Cláudio Taffarel. Cláudio Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. One of Elegance Dijon:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AKÇEŞMESPOR:s goal. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for AKÇEŞMESPOR. Babür Kongurtay stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dave Rinaldi. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Elegance Dijon's Dave Rinaldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babür Kongurtay in the 58th minute of play. Elegance Dijon made a substitution. Gilles Baur replaced David Kopa. Gogo Chuse hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Gogo Chuse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Rinaldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gogo Chuse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
