Jorginho Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Todd Gronow, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Ma Tian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Abelardo Janpier made a huge save. JULM C.F.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tiburcio Lejalde in the 31st minute. Abelardo Janpier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ma Tian in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Todd Gronow ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorginho Brodel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's goalkeeper Abelardo Janpier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Todd Gronow to make the kick off.
