Wilian de Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilian de Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes Bembenfica got a freekick which was hit by Wilian de Mendonça. Guga Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Qu Ting Ming, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Florian Terrasi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares. Guga Tavares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guga Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tenho Med, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Bembenfica's Alípio Rego got control of the ball when Edson Recife tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bembenfica's Alípio Rego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anaia Barba in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Zeus Duarte came free, but Guga Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mexilhão F. C.'s Abel de Lara got a free kick in the 45th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeus Duarte in the 47th minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Guga Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Florian Terrasi was the one to do the kick off. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Florian Terrasi came free, but Guga Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute of the match Bembenfica got a corner. Mexilhão F. C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Qu Ting Ming ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Bembenfica's Zeus Duarte to fire away a dangerous shot which Guga Tavares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alípio Rego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bembenfica's goalkeeper Alípio Rego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Mexilhão F. C. getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Arvin Larsson hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Bembenfica's Zeus Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guga Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Anaia Barba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the game, Vitor Roque cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Guga Tavares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 82nd minute, Mexilhão F. C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vitor Roque fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 87 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Florian Terrasi came free, but Guga Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Anaia Barba came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Mexilhão F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anaia Barba couldn't finish the play. Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Mexilhão F. C. from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Bembenfica could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mexilhão F. C. throughout the match.
