Tottenham Hotspurs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tabachana F.C. the free kick. In the 16th minute, Wiliam Saliba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A throw-in in the 19th minute of the game was made by Efthimis Stamatiadis with Avraam Lykoudis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tottenham Hotspurs's goalkeeper Damián Martínez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thibaut Courtois didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ferenc Puskás went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A hard, long distance shot from Valério Santana flew over the goal. In the 36th minute, Ferenc Puskás ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thibaut Courtois was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 39 minutes into the match, Ferenc Puskás notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Tabachana F.C.'s Thibaut Courtois. Thibaut Courtois was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Tottenham Hotspurs were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vassilis Tournas was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Tabachana F.C.'s zone, Everardo Lucero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thibaut Courtois came out of the goal and Everardo Lucero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Damián Martínez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vassilis Tournas in the 58th minute of the match. Thibaut Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferenc Puskás, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Ferenc Puskás had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thibaut Courtois. Tabachana F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferenc Puskás was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. If Vassilis Tournas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Avraam Lykoudis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damián Martínez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vassilis Tournas in the 77th minute of play. After 82 played minutes Tabachana F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Efthimis Stamatiadis. Tabachana F.C.'s Thibaut Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc Puskás in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferenc Puskás in the 85th minute of play forced Tabachana F.C.'s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferenc Puskás might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thibaut Courtois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferenc Puskás ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferenc Puskás in the 87th minute of play forced Tabachana F.C.'s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tottenham Hotspurs's Eustaquio Marques was substituted for Ferenc Puskás. Stergios Siontis made in the 92nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Avraam Lykoudis immediately put the ball in play. Thibaut Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Marques in the 97th minute of the match. The Tabachana F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tottenham Hotspurs were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
