The supporters of Gavião Kyikatejê booed when Westenenk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valio Tammisto was the one to do the kick off. Jaap van der Schans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Zuasnabar in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gavião Kyikatejê eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
