La Pointe Courte's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Josué Pagueguy in the 5th minute. Flávio Cannavaro made in the 7th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by La Pointe Courte's Dan Black. A collision led to Maraponga FAC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Paulinho Gogov hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Maraponga FAC's goalkeeper Mané Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josué Pagueguy. Jolan Galindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Osmundsen in the 12th minute of play. A throw-in in the 15th minute of the game was made by Flávio Cannavaro with Jimmy Lind as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 17th minute, Cidro Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darren Verlet in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jolan Galindo saved La Pointe Courte from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xacintu Magadan in the 23rd minute of play forced La Pointe Courte's goalkeeper Jolan Galindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roch Felenak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Maraponga FAC's Mané Andrade got control of the ball when Roch Felenak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maraponga FAC's Mané Andrade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Maraponga FAC from getting a goal against them. The La Pointe Courte fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when La Pointe Courte's Roch Felenak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jelle Ceustermans kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Jimmy Lind's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jolan Galindo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. In the 42nd minute of the game Flávio Cannavaro made a throw-in which Jimmy Lind played forward. Roch Felenak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mané Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Mané Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benny Impens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xacintu Magadan to make the kick off. Mané Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roch Felenak in the 50th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Maraponga FAC's zone, Roch Felenak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mané Andrade came out of the goal and Roch Felenak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xacintu Magadan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Jolan Galindo made a huge save. Jolan Galindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Osmundsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Mané Andrade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roch Felenak's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Laerte Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maraponga FAC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Pointe Courte the free kick. In the 61st minute, Laerte Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Yves Leite notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Maraponga FAC's Mané Andrade. Mané Andrade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maraponga FAC's Mané Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yves Leite in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Yves Leite made a precise shot to the right of Mané Andrade. Maraponga FAC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gianluca Prestin in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mané Andrade saved Maraponga FAC from getting behind. Flávio Cannavaro kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. If Josué Pagueguy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. La Pointe Courte's Jelle Ceustermans managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Flávio Cannavaro in the 83 minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Yves Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Pointe Courte's supporters rose to their feet, but Yves Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 87 played minutes La Pointe Courte got a freekick which was hit by Yves Leite. 93 minutes into the match, Yves Leite had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mané Andrade. Maraponga FAC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yves Leite was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1.
