The audience thought a goal was coming when Johan Vall got free with Kleopas Plouffe in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 32 minutes into the match, Benknotorna's Gustav Siöberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kleopas Plouffe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benknotorna's Peter Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Elequemedo in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute Gogo Elequemedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesar Romildo scored 0-6 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Lundgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesar Romildo was the one to do the kick off. Kleopas Plouffe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johan Vall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Gogo Elequemedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Peter Lundgren was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gogo Elequemedo couldn't finish the play. The Defensores de Mar de Ajó supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Defensores de Mar de Ajó would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
