After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Ubarna Marcos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Rollins came out of the goal and Ubarna Marcos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ubarna Marcos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes in the game Tony Dewitt did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rich Jean. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Roman Rollins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ubarna Marcos to make the kick off. For all the effort they put into the match, the Boca Juniors players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
