An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikael Hammarbäck in the 4th minute of play forced San Lorenzo de Mar del's goalkeeper Leonides Medardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the match, El Branca del Vieja's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Gilabert came free, but Remigio Timo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lei Xiao Jian got free with Leonides Medardo in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Mikael Hammarbäck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Medardo was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mikael Hammarbäck got free with Leonides Medardo in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, San Lorenzo de Mar del's Leonides Medardo got control of the ball when Mikael Hammarbäck tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonides Medardo came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by El Branca del Vieja's Mikael Hammarbäck. But to his dismay, Mikael Hammarbäck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. A collision led to El Branca del Vieja getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Mikael Hammarbäck hit a great ball. In the 24th minute of the game Jorge Ordono made a throw-in which Cristian Montrelle played forward. In the 32nd minute, Domingo Olando left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Lorenzo de Mar del fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Jorge Ordono hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Mikael Hammarbäck might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonides Medardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mikael Hammarbäck ran back to his position shaking his head. San Lorenzo de Mar del's Leonides Medardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikael Hammarbäck in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes in the game Jorge Ordono did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Saturnino Gilabert. El Branca del Vieja's Remigio Timo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Blai in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute San Lorenzo de Mar del were awarded a corner. Saturnino Gilabert went to the cornerflag to take it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lei Xiao Jian during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lei Xiao Jian hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Remigio Timo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Gilabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mikael Hammarbäck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Mikael Hammarbäck notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of San Lorenzo de Mar del's Leonides Medardo. Leonides Medardo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as San Lorenzo de Mar del's Saturnino Gilabert slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Remigio Timo. That made the score 3-2 after 53 minutes of play. In the 56th minute, Mikael Hammarbäck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th match minute, El Branca del Vieja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lei Xiao Jian to maneuver through the defense. El Branca del Vieja's Filiberto Benitez was substituted for Fabian Maldonado. El Branca del Vieja's Remigio Timo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Gilabert in the 79th minute of play. San Lorenzo de Mar del's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
