With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonides Medardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leonides Medardo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Franco Benvenuto's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute Franco Benvenuto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Medardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute Saturnino Gilabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Amor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonides Medardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Benvenuto in the 36th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Franco Benvenuto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Medardo was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. 41 minutes into the game, Franco Benvenuto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Alexandr Lunin took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for Leonides Medardo to make any attempt to save it. 97 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Mar del's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandr Lunin came free, but Leonides Medardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Timo! walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
