The corner led to Viola Invest's Mario Jakobe getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 22nd minute, Viola Invest's Gavril Anghelescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Isbășoiu in the 27th minute of play. Dumitru Doloman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Isbășoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Kuuno Tälli did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Călin Prunaru 40 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, FC MCM's Viktor Axelsson got a free kick in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Eusebiu Astafei hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC MCM's zone, Giga Popescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Călin Prunaru came out of the goal and Giga Popescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean Paul Moscatelli in the 53rd minute of play. Călin Prunaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig-Åke Gabrielsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the match, Adrian Isbășoiu notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman. Dumitru Doloman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. FC MCM's Cătălin Agulescu was substituted for Viktor Axelsson. Călin Prunaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Åke Gabrielsson in the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavril Anghelescu in the 69th minute of play forced FC MCM's goalkeeper Călin Prunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
