The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aydın Mehmet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Twan van Nistelrooij, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Felix Leahu made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Patricio Aurre sent off a good shot on target. 9 minutes into the game, F.C. YKE's Traian Brăiloiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aydın Mehmet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, FC Montana's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Brăiloiu came free, but Aydın Mehmet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. F.C. YKE's Felix Leahu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. YKE from getting a goal against them. In the 14th match minute, FC Montana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristo Marques to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Twan van Nistelrooij in the 14th minute of play forced FC Montana's goalkeeper Aydın Mehmet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aydın Mehmet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Twan van Nistelrooij, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C. YKE's Twan van Nistelrooij got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, Yao Xing Chao threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Montana's Cristo Marques quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Twan van Nistelrooij in the 21st minute of play forced FC Montana's goalkeeper Aydın Mehmet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aydın Mehmet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Brăiloiu in the 23rd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, FC Montana's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Brăiloiu came free, but Aydın Mehmet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristo Marques during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cristo Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. FC Montana's Aydın Mehmet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Traian Brăiloiu in the 41st minute of play. F.C. YKE's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Patricio Aurre 45 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Twan van Nistelrooij made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, F.C. YKE's Aydın Mehmet threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Samet Ağar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Traian Brăiloiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Aydın Mehmet made a huge save. After 54 played minutes FC Montana got a freekick which was hit by Bülent Ulunay. 56 minutes into the match, FC Montana's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Brăiloiu came free, but Aydın Mehmet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aydın Mehmet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mugur Ceaușescu in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Aurre in the 62nd minute of play forced F.C. YKE's goalkeeper Felix Leahu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. F.C. YKE's Samet Ağar pulled a muscle in his leg after 68 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Akil Yamanöz charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Akil Yamanöz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Akil Yamanöz hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. FC Montana's Hasan Ali Karaman was substituted for Patricio Aurre. Traian Brăiloiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Aydın Mehmet made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hasan Ali Karaman in the 74th minute of play forced F.C. YKE's goalkeeper Felix Leahu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Hasan Ali Karaman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Leahu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. F.C. YKE made a substitution. Zygmunt Zachemski replaced Mugur Ceaușescu. The supporters of F.C. YKE booed when FC Montana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogumil Zawadzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silviu Dumitrana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, F.C. YKE's Silviu Dumitrana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aydın Mehmet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th minute F.C. YKE were awarded a corner. Twan van Nistelrooij went to the cornerflag to take it. F.C. YKE's Twan van Nistelrooij was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aydın Mehmet in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 94th minute, Bogumil Zawadzki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The FC Montana support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
