Mugur Ceaușescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Alexander Bird made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Farmer in the 29th minute of play forced F.C. YKE's goalkeeper Felix Leahu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. YKE manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Mayo to win.
