In the 9th minute, Lou Deans reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lorenzo Tauro. The goal made the score 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudio Etxepare in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Cañizares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Higinio Eutor might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santiago Cañizares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Higinio Eutor ran back to his position shaking his head. Lorenzo Tauro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Ziguenza in the 23rd minute of the match. After 25 minutes Durazno FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joga Leve who took care of the corner kick. Lorenzo Tauro made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Xalvador Pendones sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute, Wilfredo Jubera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Hernandez in the 37th minute of play forced Nueva Chicago's goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Nueva Chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Hernandez came free, but Santiago Cañizares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xalvador Pendones during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 48 played minutes Nueva Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Xalvador Pendones. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Santiago Cañizares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeo Hernandez in the 59th minute. Santiago Cañizares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Etxepare in the 59th minute of the match. After 60 minutes Nueva Chicago's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Claudio Etxepare who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Durazno FC's corner Higinio Eutor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Santiago Cañizares quite easily take care of the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Nueva Chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Etxepare came free, but Santiago Cañizares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodolfo Libertad was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Durazno FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Claudio Etxepare in the 68th minute. In the 79th minute Diego Lugano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Tauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nueva Chicago's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
