Luca Pancu hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Xande Gay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iosif Găman, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Sport Club Mavericks's Xande Gay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iosif Găman in the 11th minute of play. Xande Gay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iosif Găman in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match, Zézinho Lopez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Iacob Povară saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's zone, Claudemiro Fragoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iacob Povară came out of the goal and Claudemiro Fragoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Sorin Cupșa came free, but Xande Gay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Iacob Povară, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sport Club Mavericks's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sílvio Luiz de Godoi in the 22nd minute. Iacob Povară showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho Lopez in the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA booed when Sport Club Mavericks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. İslam Tunçbilek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xande Gay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iulian Nicorici in the 28th minute of play. In the 36th minute Gheorghe Bociort shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xande Gay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes Sport Club Mavericks's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Iulian Nicorici who took care of the corner kick. After 44 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Paiva. After 45 played minutes, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Iulian Nicorici shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Xande Gay came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in F.C CLUJ MEDICINA reached it. After the first half F.C CLUJ MEDICINA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gheorghe Bociort made a kick off. With a little luck, Sport Club Mavericks's Xande Gay got control of the ball when Iosif Găman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xande Gay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gheorghe Bociort in the 57th minute of the match. After 59 minutes of play, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Iosif Găman made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xande Gay was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. Emerson Tande replaced Fernando Lucas. Sport Club Mavericks's Pavlo Kotyuk was substituted for Alfredão Paiva. After 63 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Claudemiro Fragoso. Xande Gay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Latarețu, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 71 played minutes F.C CLUJ MEDICINA got a freekick which was hit by Francisc Ciocoiu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Latarețu in the 76th minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Xande Gay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silviu Latarețu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xande Gay having to interfere. In the 79th minute Claudemiro Fragoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Povară saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sport Club Mavericks's Xande Gay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Pancu in the 83rd minute of play. Sport Club Mavericks's attentive Serafim Toledo managed to snatch the ball when Alfonso Nastasio made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. Xande Gay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisc Ciocoiu in the 88th minute. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Iacob Povară played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudemiro Fragoso in the 92nd minute of play. The Sport Club Mavericks fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
