The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Esterházy got free with Evert Mellberg in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Peter Esterházy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evert Mellberg. The Lions's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Esterházy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Ulfa FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Jonasson came free, but Andreas Renner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulfa FSV's Andreas Renner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Jonasson in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Arne Jonasson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andreas Renner was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 21st minute, The Lions's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Peter Esterházy fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 22 minutes into the match, The Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Friedrich Hölderlin came free, but Evert Mellberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Ulfa FSV's Peter Esterházy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evert Mellberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ulfa FSV's Andreas Renner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Jonasson in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Iustin Braniște shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Renner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 played minutes The Lions got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Abastas. A collision led to The Lions getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Filiph Hedkvist hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Esterházy in the 39th minute of play forced The Lions's goalkeeper Evert Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andreas Renner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arne Jonasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gert Carlsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arne Jonasson came free with the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Andreas Renner could save by the left post. 64 minutes into the match, Thomas Bernhard had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evert Mellberg. The Lions's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Bernhard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Esterházy in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evert Mellberg saved The Lions from getting behind. 71 minutes into the game, Peter Esterházy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Evert Mellberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Carlsson in the 76th minute of play forced Ulfa FSV's goalkeeper Andreas Renner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andreas Renner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert Carlsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evert Mellberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Thorke, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Ulfa FSV's goalkeeper Andreas Renner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gert Carlsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Carlsson in the 92nd minute of play forced Ulfa FSV's goalkeeper Andreas Renner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Peter Esterházy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ulfa FSV fans cheered their team off the field, for while The Lions had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
