Aaron Smallwood came out of the goal and János Döbrögi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 23rd minute of play forced Andrashida's goalkeeper Krisztián Pál to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Aaron Smallwood managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Andrashida's Géza Herman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Krisztián Pál made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Turner in the 28th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Andrashida's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Turner came free, but Krisztián Pál reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Krisztián Pál made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Lanny Gilmore in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Krisztián Pál, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Arturo Turner scored 0-6 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Krisztián Pál, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Géza Herman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Andrashida:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Santos FC:s goal. In the 97th minute, Tyron Velasquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. The Andrashida fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Santos FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
