Tiburcio Liher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franco Fortunato in the 15th minute. In the 24th minute Jacinto Moutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octávio Portugal in the 24th minute of play forced forsal FC's goalkeeper Válter Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Altamora FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Lucchetta came free, but Tiburcio Liher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jacinto Moutinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Válter Tasso was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. After having played for 39 minutes, Attilio Pani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. forsal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Attilio Pani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Altamora FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Teófilo Estrela hit a great ball. With a little luck, Altamora FC's Tiburcio Liher got control of the ball when Attilio Pani tried to sneak it across the goal line. forsal FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alfonso Aquilino in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Attilio Pani to make the kick off. forsal FC's Válter Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save forsal FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 52 minutes, Octávio Portugal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altamora FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octávio Portugal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Altamora FC's Octávio Portugal got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Altamora FC's Tiburcio Liher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Fortunato in the 56th minute of play. Jacinto Moutinhos short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Válter Tasso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in forsal FC's zone, Octávio Portugal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válter Tasso came out of the goal and Octávio Portugal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. forsal FC's Elia Bucciarelli was substituted for Daniele Marinacci. In the 73rd minute forsal FC were awarded a corner. Alfonso Aquilino went to the cornerflag to take it. forsal FC's Alfonso Aquilino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tiburcio Liher in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind forsal FC's goalkeeper Válter Tasso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute Octávio Portugal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiburcio Liher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Aquilino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Válter Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octávio Portugal in the 85th minute of the match. The supporters of Altamora FC booed when forsal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Pani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Attilio Pani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Liher having to interfere. The Altamora FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Altamora FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
