Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rolando Bela in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinho Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Keszi Athletic's zone, Hernan Emmanuel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinho Taffarel came out of the goal and Hernan Emmanuel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. United's Sabahattin Erten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save United from getting a goal against them. Amadeo Sazon made in the 21st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Amadeo Sazon immediately put the ball in play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Emmanuel in the 23rd minute of play forced Keszi Athletic's goalkeeper Claudinho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Bela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. United's attentive Domingo Oinaz managed to snatch the ball when Anton Kutnjak made a throw-in in the 28th minute of the game. Sabahattin Erten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugó Révész in the 29th minute. After having played for 30 minutes, Rolando Bela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolando Bela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amadeo Sazon hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Keszi Athletic's István Gyurkovics was substituted for Vaios Vourtzoumis. Keszi Athletic's Kornél Kerekes was substituted for Anton Kutnjak. After 49 played minutes United got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Sazon.

Sabahattin Erten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugó Révész, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute István Gyurkovics shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabahattin Erten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62ndth minute of the game István Gyurkovics who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but United's Sabahattin Erten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 65th minute, Desiderio Cerilo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keszi Athletic made a substitution. Márton Lengyel replaced Özkan İlhan. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Modesto Peirano took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Claudinho Taffarel to make any attempt to save it. 78 minutes into the match, United's goal looked a bit too open when Hugó Révész came free, but Sabahattin Erten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute István Gyurkovics shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabahattin Erten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeo Sazon made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ciriaco Alfonso. Sabahattin Erten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from István Gyurkovics, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Amadeo Sazon made in the 91st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ernesto Vermudo immediately put the ball in play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
