Folke Melin might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rueben Wildman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Folke Melin ran back to his position shaking his head. Emmanuil Kirillov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Upson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emmanuil Kirillov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Lee Hislop had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emmanuil Kirillov. Pauliström's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lee Hislop was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. When the match was over Pauliström could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dakar Olympique throughout the match.
