Enrique Txomin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Godo Gøl made a huge save. In the 30th minute, Nereo Precioso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Godo Gøl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laureano Amato in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Laureano Amato fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Americo Millan in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Godo Gøl saved FC Lugano from getting behind. With a little luck, FC Lugano's Godo Gøl got control of the ball when Enrique Txomin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 44 minutes of play, FC Lugano's Ray Büeler made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
