After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Fausto Beattie managed to get in a good position for a shot. ORIZABA F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Beattie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dieter Gärtner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Robustiano Clementi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Clementi in the 7th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Dieter Gärtner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dieter Gärtner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cauan Rosa went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 13th minute Benoit Ritieni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richárd Textex saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute of the match, Ray Büeler tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Richárd Textex saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 20th minute, Cauan Rosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Clementi in the 20th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Dieter Gärtner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dieter Gärtner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cauan Rosa went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Julian Kosakowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benoit Ritieni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Richárd Textex made a huge save. After 35 minutes of play, ORIZABA F.C.'s Cauan Rosa made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dieter Gärtner was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Lugano's Claus Pratter was substituted for Garnier Nüesch. FC Lugano's Jirko Bur was substituted for Benoit Ritieni. Cauan Rosa succeeded in the game's 40th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Julio Palluzzi hit a great ball. Dieter Gärtner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fausto Beattie went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. The FC Lugano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ORIZABA F.C. were winning 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julio Palluzzi to make the kick off. With a little luck, FC Lugano's Dieter Gärtner got control of the ball when Cauan Rosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dieter Gärtner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loco Oko in the 58th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Loco Oko dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dieter Gärtner, 0-6. The supporters of ORIZABA F.C. booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Sanger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goalkeeper Dieter Gärtner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robustiano Clementi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauan Rosa in the 66th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Dieter Gärtner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the FC Lugano defense, Loco Oko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dieter Gärtner. The FC Lugano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dieter Gärtner should have stopped the shot. Cauan Rosas short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Dieter Gärtner to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 72 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Loco Oko came free, but Dieter Gärtner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dieter Gärtner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Clementi in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of ORIZABA F.C. booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Polo Maldini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dieter Gärtner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Kosakowski in the 80th minute. Dieter Bosshard charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dieter Bosshard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 82 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Dieter Bosshard. Julian Kosakowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Dieter Gärtner made a huge save. In the 87th minute, Cauan Rosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ORIZABA F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cauan Rosa in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dieter Gärtner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 93rd minute of the match, Robustiano Clementi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dieter Gärtner was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The FC Lugano fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ORIZABA F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
