Magnistar's Aírton Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Flor in the 12th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Rene Flor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Bull Crystallis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Flor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rene Flor got free with Aírton Penha in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rene Flor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Magnistar's Aírton Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Magnistar from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Rene Flor took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Aírton Penha to make any attempt to save it. Magnistar's Aírton Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Flor in the 38th minute of play. Norris Lando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Abraão in the 44th minute of play. In the 48th minute of the match Red Bull Crystallis got a corner. Magnistar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. William Bodin ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Germain Poli heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rene Flor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aílton Loureiro charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aílton Loureiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Magnistar getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Aílton Loureiro hit a great ball. William Bodin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aírton Penha.
