Fausto da Rocha came out and tried to block the shot, but Urban Wennerquist slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hong Yao Peng got free with Fausto da Rocha in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urban Wennerquist in the 44th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Fausto da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 49th minute, Hong Yao Peng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rômulo Negri was the one to do the kick off. Urban Wennerquist hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Hermínio Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. AFC - Curitiba's Fausto da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Israel Blue in the 79th minute of play. In the 83rd minute of the match Joga Hem FC got a corner. AFC - Curitiba's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag.
