The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fabio Bottone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Scutti in the 11th minute of play forced Papato Tatengue's goalkeeper Filiberto Luke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filiberto Luke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Simeoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabio Bottone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filiberto Luke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Filiberto Luke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Bottone in the 19th minute of the match. Borgo Doria F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dino Simeoni in the 22nd minute. The corner ended in Alberto Scutti almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Papato Tatengue's Filiberto Luke did a great save. Alejandro Rosio kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Filiberto Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Scutti in the 26th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Fulvio Franco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filiberto Luke was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Comunardo Giusti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Borgo Doria F.C. booed when Papato Tatengue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingos Sanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Borgo Doria F.C.'s Arrigo Meo got a free kick in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Aurelio Cordera made the kick off in the second half. Papato Tatengue's Filiberto Luke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Papato Tatengue from getting a goal against them. Papato Tatengue's Filiberto Luke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Simeoni in the 75th minute of play. Filiberto Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Bottone in the 76th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Borgo Doria F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Cordera came free, but Corrado Spitaleri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Arrigo Meo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Papato Tatengue's Teodoro Chano landed with the leg in an unnatural angle after a tough challenge. The leg was fractured. After 94 minutes, Arrigo Meo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borgo Doria F.C. and the Papato Tatengue players grew even worse after the yellow card. Papato Tatengue made a substitution. Carlos Saúl Menem replaced Teodoro Chano. After 95 played minutes Borgo Doria F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Arrigo Meo. When the final whistle sounded Borgo Doria F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Papato Tatengue.
