When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Bent Streyder sped through S S Palestra Italia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jarbas Guedes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Figueiredo in the 16th minute of play forced Holmkjar Hotspurs's goalkeeper Tristan Nordlet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Zé Roberto Moura fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S S Palestra Italia's protests and gave Zé Roberto Moura a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Holmkjar Hotspurs booed when S S Palestra Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sigfrid Eildorf came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Holmkjar Hotspurs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigfrid Eildorf couldn't finish the play. Tristan Nordlet made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Inácio Figueiredo sent off a good shot on target. Jarbas Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Makenhauer in the 25th minute of play. Tristan Nordlet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Roberto Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Inácio Figueiredo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tristan Nordlet was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Tristan Nordlet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Figueiredo in the 42nd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The supporters of S S Palestra Italia booed when Holmkjar Hotspurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Roano's late challenge caught a Holmkjar Hotspurs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Roano helped the player get up and apologised. Holmkjar Hotspurs made a substitution. Kalle Molnit replaced Sigfrid Eildorf. In the 87th minute Magnus Steinwart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Magnus Steinwart came free, but Jarbas Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the S S Palestra Italia defense, Ove Makenhauer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jarbas Guedes. The S S Palestra Italia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jarbas Guedes should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute, Magnus Steinwart left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Holmkjar Hotspurs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Holmkjar Hotspurs played a much better game than S S Palestra Italia and deserved their victory. The S S Palestra Italia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
