After some careless play in the Sperides defense, Bror Nordstedt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jenni Martinez. The Sperides fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jenni Martinez should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Valler in the 17th minute of play forced Dark Prophets's goalkeeper Geronimo Argi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geronimo Argi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucero Mezquita's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Lucero Mezquita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Geronimo Argi made a huge save. Dark Prophets's Geronimo Argi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Peto in the 27th minute of play. Sperides were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Dark Prophets's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Isaac Carballido took the corner. Sperides's Jenni Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Trifan in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute Eduard Trifan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jenni Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sabin Verzeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geronimo Argi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Peto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Sperides made a substitution. Nestor Gonzáles replaced Lucero Mezquita. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nestor Gonzáles to strike the kick off in the second half. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dark Prophets would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
