In the 2nd minute Rubens Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cotera Meca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cevallos Trevino, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 6th minute Rubens Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cotera Meca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute of the match, Verner Sundström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcelo Galvão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cotera Meca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Varela in the 19th minute of play. Cotera Meca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonardo Varela's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. With a little luck, Itajaí Football Club's Marcelo Galvão got control of the ball when Cevallos Trevino tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Itajaí Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Varela to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Alvaro in the 27th minute of play forced Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Marcelo Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Cevallos Trevino took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Marcelo Galvão to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cevallos Trevino got free with Marcelo Galvão in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenz Carabia in the 35th minute of play forced Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Marcelo Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flor Arganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Itajaí Football Club's Marcelo Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cevallos Trevino in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carnot's Lorenz Carabia got a free kick in the 41st minute. Afonso Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelo Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cevallos Trevino, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Marcelo Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cevallos Trevino in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Varela to make the kick off. Cotera Meca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubens Abreu in the 58th minute of play. Marcelo Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cevallos Trevino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by André Luís King. 60 minutes into the game, Carnot's Cevallos Trevino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelo Galvão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The supporters of Itajaí Football Club booed when Carnot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilfredo Candina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itajaí Football Club's Leonardo Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Luís King fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cotera Meca having to interfere. Sotomayor Portas charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sotomayor Portas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd match minute, Carnot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sotomayor Portas to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flor Arganza in the 75th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Verner Sundström in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Galvão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cotera Meca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubens Abreu in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Flor Arganza made a precise shot to the right of Marcelo Galvão. Itajaí Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Marcelo Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cevallos Trevino in the 84th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Flor Arganza came free, but Marcelo Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Rubens Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cotera Meca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cotera Meca came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Itajaí Football Club's Leonardo Varela. But to his dismay, Leonardo Varela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Marcelo Galvão came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Carnot's Cevallos Trevino. But to his dismay, Cevallos Trevino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1.
