After 10 minutes, Warner Anaya made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. FC Internazionale's Melchazadec Terron tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Melchazadec Terron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arden Poulin's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Santos Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moise Manciulea in the 16th minute of the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Moise Manciulea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Internazionale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moise Manciulea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, FC Internazionale's goal looked a bit too open when Arden Poulin came free, but Melchazadec Terron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Persepolis F.C. were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after FC Internazionale's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dominic Delgado took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Warner Anaya in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melchazadec Terron saved FC Internazionale from getting behind. The supporters of Persepolis F.C. booed when FC Internazionale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig-Åke Finsberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santos Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bülent Erduran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moise Manciulea in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santos Perez saved Persepolis F.C. from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Abraham Dutton hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, Santos Perez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. FC Internazionale were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Persepolis F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Matei Călin took the corner. Matei Călin made a great header on FC Internazionale's corner, it was just that Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez managed to reach the ball for a save.
