When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-2 when João Francisco Seco sped through MZ Rapid's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vintilă Luncanu. In the 15th minute, João Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Uberlandia-DMZ were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filippos Stathopoulos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
