Jean Britton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Israel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After 26 minutes SAFA United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Trey Easley who took care of the corner kick. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Jacinto Vela was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan Israel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Jean Britton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Britton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Israel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of SAFA United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sport Lisboa e Benfica:s goal. When the match had been going on for 37 minutes, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Barış Birsoy got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jan Israel. In the 41st minute, Du Lei Bin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Collin Grimm managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hans Huisingh in the 42 minute of the game. After 44 played minutes Jean Britton rounded SAFA United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 6-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51st minute, Jean Britton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan Israel was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. In the 95th minute, Jean Britton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Lisboa e Benfica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 12-0.
