In the 3rd match minute, Järbo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Oskar Månsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Järbo's goalkeeper Jimmy Lundin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Järbo booed when Sport Lisboa e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Du Lei Bin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 played minutes Sport Lisboa e Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Jean Britton. Sport Lisboa e Benfica were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Järbo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Trey Easley took the corner. The corner led Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Trey Easley to fire away a dangerous shot which Jimmy Lundin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Lindgren in the 23rd minute of play forced Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Herb Good to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Herb Good played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Lindgren in the 26th minute of play. Herb Good was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Allan Lindgren showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 28 minute of play. Jimmy Lundin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jean Britton went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Garland Noël kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Herb Good made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Lindgren in the 42nd minute of play. After 44 minutes Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bengt-Rune Wennerlund who took care of the corner kick. Bengt-Rune Wennerlund made a great header on Järbo's corner, it was just that Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Herb Good managed to reach the ball for a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Ulaş Hulk made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Järbo getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Bengt-Rune Wennerlund hit a great ball. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Järbo's goalkeeper Jimmy Lundin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Allan Lindgren in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herb Good prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Herb Good made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Lindgren in the 71st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Jean Britton got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Jean Britton hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Lindgren in the 77th minute of play forced Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Herb Good to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Jean Britton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jimmy Lundin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jimmy Lundin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jean Britton's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute of the match Sport Lisboa e Benfica got a corner. Järbo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Trey Easley ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Marcel Lynn almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Järbo's Jimmy Lundin did a great save. After 91 played minutes Järbo got a freekick which was hit by Allan Lindgren. 93 minutes into the game, one of Sport Lisboa e Benfica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Järbo a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bengt-Rune Wennerlund, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Herb Good. 3-2.
