When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Filippo Cappucci. Manchester City's Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Dan Saville had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Filippo Cappucci. Chelsea FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dan Saville was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filippo Cappucci prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki sped through Chelsea FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Filippo Cappucci. Filippo Cappucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chelsea FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Geoffrey De Bougne was slow to take the kick. During this time Manchester City's players had a chance to rest. Filippo Cappucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Saville in the 20th minute of the match. Filippo Cappucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Saville, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Avgustin Trichkov charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Avgustin Trichkov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Avgustin Trichkov hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Chelsea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Saville came free, but Filippo Cappucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes of play, Manchester City's Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filippo Cappucci was left in no man's land by his defense there! Geoffrey De Bougne took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filippo Cappucci. Filippo Cappucci dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 34th minute of the match Manchester City got a corner. Chelsea FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geoffrey De Bougne ran over to the corner to take the kick. Zlatko Duhtev hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Filippo Cappucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Orling in the 36th minute of play. Filippo Cappucci came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester City's Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki. But to his dismay, Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. A collision led to Chelsea FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Zlatko Duhtev hit a great ball. After 44 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Anastas Zabunov. Geoffrey De Bougne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dan Saville sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Saville in the 56th minute of play forced Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Filippo Cappucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Manchester City's Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Filippo Cappucci made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. Manchester City made a substitution. Tommy Bedford replaced Dan Saville. Manchester City's Anthony Carey was substituted for Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki. In the 63rd minute of the match, Anthony Carey got a very nice opportunity to score, but Filippo Cappucci was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Filippo Cappucci was a little too slow when Anthony Carey got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-8. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea FC's zone, Tommy Bedford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filippo Cappucci came out of the goal and Tommy Bedford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anthony Carey came free with the goalkeeper in the 69th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Filippo Cappucci could save by the left post. Manchester City were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Chelsea FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Geoffrey De Bougne took the corner. After taking down the ball on Manchester City's corner Geoffrey De Bougne fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Filippo Cappucci quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Carey in the 73rd minute of play forced Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Filippo Cappucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Anthony Carey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filippo Cappucci was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. 82 minutes into the match, Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Filippo Cappucci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anthony Carey. After some careless play in the Chelsea FC defense, Anthony Carey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filippo Cappucci. The Chelsea FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filippo Cappucci should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea FC's zone, Geoffrey De Bougne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filippo Cappucci came out of the goal and Geoffrey De Bougne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Manchester City's Geoffrey De Bougne in the 88th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Filippo Cappucci was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Chelsea FC through an amazing save. Anthony Carey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Filippo Cappucci made a huge save. The Chelsea FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Manchester City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
