The audience thought a goal was coming when Teobald Sikola got free with Nelsinho Leite in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jiang Zhen Qiang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Ulryk Bondel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STORMTROOPERS ON GRASS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulryk Bondel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teobald Sikola. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Alexandre Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Tepedino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jiang Zhen Qiang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 26 minutes, Ignacy Banach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nelsinho Leite had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Ignacy Banach's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 38 minutes into the match, STORMTROOPERS ON GRASS's goal looked a bit too open when João Pirani came free, but Jiang Zhen Qiang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jiang Zhen Qiang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Dorian Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute of the match, Ignacy Banach got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nelsinho Leite was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Tepedino in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jiang Zhen Qiang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Vascogoianiense FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Sidnei Leão hit a great ball. Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro was substituted for Alexandre Tepedino. Jiang Zhen Qiang came out of the goal and Aírton Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
