In the 16th match minute, Lobos de Carelia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Gombal to maneuver through the defense. Caaguazu's Rich Barth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Fernandez in the 27th minute of play. Rich Barth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prospero Perico, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Adolfo Gombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lobos de Carelia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolfo Gombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paquito Lago's late challenge caught a Lobos de Carelia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paquito Lago helped the player get up and apologised. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Gabriel Efraim made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Caaguazu's Paquito Lago got a free kick in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Efraim in the 53rd minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Rich Barth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chiquito Reyes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rich Barth firmly grabbed it by the left post. Feliberto Ipar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Rojas in the 94th minute of play. Rich Barth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Prospero Inguma in the 98th minute. When the final whistle sounded Lobos de Carelia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Caaguazu.
