The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Rodney Devere put in a rough tackle. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerd Oolo made a kick off. Gerd Oolo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Broderick Ceney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Melbourne 007's goal looked a bit too open when Vilhelm Jakobsson came free, but Broderick Ceney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Máté Döbrögi made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Dante King sent off a good shot on target.
