The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Nimród Szőcs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lew Yashin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nimród Szőcs in the 13th minute of the match. Dumitru Lucaci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nimród Szőcs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lew Yashin having to make a save. Cöpacabana FC's Juan Alvarenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Cöpacabana FC from getting a goal against them. Vito Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Lew Yashin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Modlau's Toni Kroos got a free kick in the 25th minute. Lew Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Talha İstanbul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vito Leite in the 32nd minute of play forced Modlau's goalkeeper Lew Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Cöpacabana FC were awarded a corner. Talha İstanbul went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Vito Leite almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Modlau's Lew Yashin did a great save. Lew Yashin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vito Leite's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vito Leite in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lew Yashin saved Modlau from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vito Leite made a kick off. Lew Yashin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vito Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 57 minutes into the game, Cöpacabana FC's Nimród Szőcs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lew Yashin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 63 minutes Modlau's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Talha İstanbul who took care of the corner kick. Juan Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry McCray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lew Yashin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dumitru Lucaci in the 67th minute of play. Cöpacabana FC's Juan Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry McCray in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute Barry McCray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vito Leite in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lew Yashin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Cöpacabana FC booed when Modlau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zula Puszynski didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Modlau's Lew Yashin got control of the ball when Nimród Szőcs tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juan Alvarenga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Barry McCray's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Lew Yashin was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Dumitru Lucaci capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dumitru Lucaci really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Nimród Szőcs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Cöpacabana FC's Vito Leite dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Cöpacabana FC's Nimród Szőcs got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cöpacabana FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
