Pål Sefastsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nistor Anton in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute Nistor Anton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hjalmar Browald had several of the Purcaresti CSS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 24 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Cătălin Trică as he didn't even see the shot coming. Cătălin Trică made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hjalmar Browald in the 30th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Ove Sörman in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cătălin Trică saved Purcaresti CSS from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Purcaresti CSS's goalkeeper Cătălin Trică had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hjalmar Browald. 36 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's Hjalmar Browald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cătălin Trică narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hjalmar Browald might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cătălin Trică. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hjalmar Browald ran back to his position shaking his head. Purcaresti CSS's Cătălin Trică proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Purcaresti CSS from getting a goal against them. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iustin Radovan in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pavel Mazăre in the 45th minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hjalmar Browald in the 47th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Cătălin Trică kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 3-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fredric Melander made a kick off. Pål Sefastsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabriel Măliță in the 54th minute. With a little luck, National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson got control of the ball when Nistor Anton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Arghiroiu in the 77th minute of the match. National Team Cape-Verde were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Purcaresti CSS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fredric Melander took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Fredric Melander got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cătălin Trică quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gula Piller in the 88th minute of play forced Purcaresti CSS's goalkeeper Cătălin Trică to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute Pavel Mazăre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrik Örnberg made in the 94th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Purcaresti CSS's Gică Zbârcea. In the 96th minute Gula Piller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cătălin Trică saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gula Piller struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Cătălin Trică didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for National Team Cape-Verde. National Team Cape-Verde were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Purcaresti CSS for a fine match.
