In the 21st minute, Hjalmar Browald reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Christer Forsberg. The goal made the score 4-0. Fredric Melander might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christer Forsberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fredric Melander ran back to his position shaking his head. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 98th minute National Team Cape-Verde were awarded a corner. Şahap Özgu went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to National Team Cape-Verde's Henrik Örnberg getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. There was no doubt that National Team Cape-Verde were the better team. National Team Cape-Verde's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
